Bellevue Eastside Swim Team New Swimmer Try-out
The Bellevue Eastside Swim Team (BEST) has limited space available in its 2008-2009 rosters for the 6-12 year-old children. In the month of July, BEST will offer swimming try-outs for children who wish to join BEST for the 2008-2009 season. These try-outs will determine if the child is ready for the team based swim training, stroke techniques and a basic timed swimming test.
From July 14th to July 25th, we will offer try-outs during the following times:
Monday and Wednesday, 4PM to 6PM
Tuesday and Thursday , 6PM to 8PM
to make an appointment for the tryout. |

This year the BEST swim team has 6 practice groups - Dev1, Dev2, A1, A2, S1 and S2, they are mainly based on swimmers' ability, their physical built-up, coaches' skill ratings and age. The Swimmer's ability was mainly determined by their achievements in competitions, namely the fastest times in 50 free (speed), 100 IM (overall ability), and 500 free (endurance) ability level.
In order to provide good quality practice to each swimer, the coaches have tried to keep the average number of swimmers per lane to no more than 7, and their intent this year is to ensure that all groups have some exposure to all coaches.

Dear Parents;
We are in the design and ordering process of swim team t-shirts. These T-shirts are free for the swimmers thanks to generous donations made by Amgen and Microsoft and most importantly, the parent that applied for matching funds. Thank you – Thank you.
Please reply to linda@hamsel.com your child's t-shirt size. Choose from Youth S-XL and Adult XS-XXL. All shirts will be navy with yellow print.
Your reply will assure that we will not be guessing at the t-shirt size of your child.
FYI Emily (9 year old) has a youth size large which is about an inch below her finger tips but nice to stay warm.
